Thomas Darwin Boyd, Sr., 83, of Star City, passed away on October 28, 2018 at the Gardner Nursing Home in Star City.
He was a retired welder from F & F Boat Company and was of the United Pentecostal faith.
Mr. Boyd was born on May 6, 1935 in Lincoln County, to late Marvin Eugene Boyd and Ina Eunice Bodiford Boyd in Lincoln County.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Willie Mae Wisinger and Joy Elizabeth Higgs, and one brother, John Boyd.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Mackie “Teet” Hood Boyd of Star City; a son, Thomas Darwin Boyd, Jr. and wife, Glenda, of Monticello; a daughter, Linda Boyd Wright, of Jackson Gap, Alabama; a grandson, Allen Douglas Wright, Jr., of Scottsboro, Alabama; two granddaughters, Michelle Wright of Jackson Gap, Alabama and Lauren Boyd Henry and husband Jonathan of Mt. Home; eight great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, Martin Arnold Boyd and wife Sherry of Durant, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 31, at 2 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello. Burial will follow at Holly Springs Cemetery in Star City.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 30, from 6 p.m until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
