Thomas E. Smith, 58, of Lake Village died on August 26, 2016 at University of Arkansas Medical Science of Little Rock.

He was retired construction worker for many years. He loved the outdoors and everything it had to offer. He spent most of his life in cutoff jeans with no shirt or shoes.

Mr. Smith was was born February 3, 1958 in Little Rock, AR. He is the son of the late Wilber J. Smith and the late Bermell Teague Smith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gina Grimes Smith; a sister, Sandra Freeman, a brother-in-law, Nathan Hensley; and two beloved dogs, Fancy and Hope.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Joyce Edwards Smith; two sisters; Martha Hensley of Crossett and Mary H. Shaver and husband Tommy of Crossett; one brother, Jesse Smith and wife Sue of Collinston, Louisiana; brother-in-law, Frank Freeman; two stepsons, Jerry and Christopher Johnson; two stepdaughters, Hollie Johnson and Tiffany Arant; four step-grandsons, six step-granddaughters and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and beloved dog, Tiny.

A funeral will be held on August 30 at 10 a.m. at Bishop-King Funeral Home with Murlee Carter officiating. Burial will be at Jennie Cemetery in Lake Village. Visitation will be held on August 29 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Bishop-King Funeral Home in Lake Village. Arrangements are by Bishop-King Funeral Home of Lake Village.
