Dr. Tim Chase, a Monticello dentist, Monticello alderman, former interim mayor of Monticello and former president of the Arkansas Dental Association, died Friday. He was 53.

Chase had held the Ward 4, Position 2 seat on the Monticello City Council since 2004.

He briefly held the dual role of alderman and mayor of Monticello when he was appointed in March 2014 to serve as interim mayor following the death of his late father-in-law and former mayor Allen Maxwell.

Dr. Chase served as the president of the Arkansas Dental Association in 2009. He was the dental association’s 115th president.

Visitation is April 17 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello.

The funeral service is April 18 at 3:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Monticello.
