Timothy (Tim) Wayne Moncrief, 48, of Star City, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.

He was born in Conway on March 16, 1965 and was a graduate of Star City High School. He received a bachelor’s of arts degree in criminal justice from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff in 2003 and was a Major with the Arkansas Department of Correction where he had worked for more than 25 years.

Mr. Moncrief was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, friend and co-worker. He was a member of Sahara Temple in Pine Bluff and was a 32nd degree mason. He was an avid bass fisherman and hunter.

He was preceded in death by his father, J.T.Moncrief.

Survivors include his mother, Betty Moncrief; his wife, Treill Moncrief, whom he married September 20, 1985; three children, Danielle Moncrief Graves, Jessica Moncrief and Jeremy Moncrief; and two sisters, Deborah Moncrief and Joy Moncrief Lowe.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Griffin Funeral Home in Star City. Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Chapel with Bro. Dubs Byers officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Lake Cemetery at Dumas.
