Tommy Greer, 70, of Parkdale, died August 9, 2021, in Lake Village.
He was a native of Eudora and a resident of Parkdale for the past 30 years.
Mr. Greer was a 1971 graduate of Eudora High School and worked as a farmer and diesel mechanic. He could fix anything and people from all around would often call him for repairs and mechanical advice. He was the Parkdale Volunteer Fire Department Chief for over 20 years. The center point of his life was God and his church, the First Pentecostal Church of Hamburg. Many people were the recipient of Mr. Greer’s thoughtful generosity. He would often say that “the Lord has blessed me” and when he thought someone was in need, he would step in. Mr. Greer loved his wife and son dearly and enjoyed spending time with his family and was loved by all.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, April Marie Greer in 1975; his parents, Willie and Mary Weathers Greer and a brother, James Greer.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nadine Walton Greer of Parkdale; a son, Rommy Greer and Beau Beckham, of Bella Vista; two brothers, Charlie Greer and wife, Marci`a and Henry Greer and wife, Bonnie, all of Lake Village; three sisters, Elizabeth Barley of Eudora, Polly Carter of Dermott and Barbara Arnold and husband, John, of Bovina, Mississippi; Shaye Lynn Russell, whom he thought of as his own granddaughter and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, August 12, at Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Russell and Rev. Andrew Marshall officiating. Burial will be in the Hamburg Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Wesley Jones, William Greer, Richard Barley, Mary Whitten, Michael Herring and Brian Greer. Honorary pallbearers are Kevin Burns and John Gee. Memorials may be made to the First Pentecostal Church of Hamburg, PO Box 309, Hamburg, AR 71646.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
