Tommy Wayne Funderburg, 78, of Monticello, passed away on March 12, 2017 at his home in Monticello.

He was born March 8, 1939 in Crossett, and was the son of the late Tommy Elvin and Doris Pritchard Funderburg.

Mr. Funderburg was a United States Air Force veteran who served in Korea and Vietnam, a retired insurance agent for American General Insurance Company, a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Lions Club. He was also a member and deacon of Second Baptist Church in Monticello.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Don Funderburg.

Survivors include his wife, Jerry Ann Banister Funderburg of Monticello; two daughters, Melinda (Mendy) Carol Bickford and husband Don of Monticello and Jacqueline (Jackie) Sue Johnson and husband Guy of Aurora, Colorado; grandchildren, Benjamin Cowling and wife Kristin and Brandon Cowling and wife Shay both of Monticello, Shasta and Bailee Johnson of Aurora, Colorado; great-grandchildren, Madyson Cowling, Braydon Cowling, Ian Bergeron, Luke Cowling and Bradlee Cowling; a brother, Michael Elvin Funderburg of Huntsville, Alabama; a very special sister-in-law, Pam Stephenson and husband Ray of Monticello; and some very special caregivers, Arkansas Hospice, Area Agency on Aging, Peggy Bardley, Emily Howard, Mrs. Essie, Mrs. Thelma and Mrs. Diane.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 16 at 10 a.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with Rev. Ray Hearron officiating. Burial with full military honoros will be held at the Lone Sassafras Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
