A Montrose man and a Woodlawn man were killed and a Portland man was injured late Saturday night in a 3-vehicle accident in Jefferson County, according to State Police.
The accident occurred on U.S. 63 South at Nelson Road in Jefferson County on July 5 at 11:02 p.m. when a northbound GMC pickup truck driven by Durham crossed the center line of the highway and hit a southbound Chevy pickup truck driven by Spaulding, according to State Police.
A third vehicle, a southbound Toyota Camry, then struck the Spaulding vehicle. The Spaulding vehicle caught fire after impact. Spaulding’s passenger, Taylor Young, was injured. He was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.
James Simpson, the driver of the Camry, and his passenger, Debra Simpson, were not injured. The State Police report did not disclose the age and residence of the Simpsons.
The weather was clear and the roadway was dry.
