Tyree Riley, 91, of Monticello passed away on July 5, 2015 at his home.
He was a faithful Jehovah Witness, a retired logger, and served in United States Army (World War II) for six years, receiving the Purple Heart Medal. His free time was spent visiting his brother, Esley who resides in Belleview Nursing and Rehab Center.
Mr. Riley was born on February 25, 1924 in Lacey and was the son of the late Luther and Kathana Langdon Riley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sulisteen Harden Riley; three brothers, Leslie, L.C. and Charlie Lee Riley; one sister, Ida Mae Bunns; one sister-in-law and two nephews.
Survivors include two brothers, Alvernia (Atlean) and Esley Riley of Lacey; a special niece, LaRaine Green (Alvin); four sisters-in-law, Betty Harden, Callean Harden, Claudia Handley and Lonnie Mae Swift; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held on July 11 at 1 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello with burial to follow at Lacey Cemetery. Visitation will be held on July 10 from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
