Lemoyne OwenThe schedule for this weekend’s Great American Conference baseball series between No. 17 University of Arkansas at Monticello and No. 18 Arkansas Tech has been altered due to the threat of inclement weather.

The two squads will now play a double-header on Friday, March 14 starting at 3 p.m. at Tech Field and conclude the series on Saturday with a single nine-inning game at 1 p.m.

The Weevils look to end their recent conference struggles after losing two of three games on the road to Ouachita Baptist last weekend and losing four of the team’s last six outings overall. Arkansas Tech has trended the opposite direction recently, having posted four straight victories and six wins overall in its last eight games.

UAM defeated Tech in the 2014 series opener, a 7-2 win at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas on February 1. UAM enters this weekend’s series with a 16-8 overall record and a 7-5 mark in the GAC. ATU is 16-5 overall and 7-2 in the GAC.
