The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball team ranked 24th in NCAA Division II baseball by the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper in the organization’s top 40 preseason poll. The Weevils were the only team from the Great American Conference represented in the CBN’s top 40.

Last season, the Weevils were 34-16 overall and 24-6 in conference play. UAM won the regular season GAC title and lost in the NCAA Central Region Tournament to Oklahoma Baptist to end its season.

UAM returns several key offensive performers in 2020, including David Reyna, Cade Thompson, Andrew Piraino, Jordan Johnson, Dylan Borman and Grant Shepard, and pitchers Matt Lundh and Ojani Chacon.

UAM head coach John Harvey returns to UAM for his 10th season. He is joined on his staff by Mark Jelks as his assistant and recruiting coordinator, along with graduate assistants Dawson Moser and Adam Hutson.

The 2020 season will get underway for the Weevils on January 31 at the Houston Astros Winter Invitational. Their first opponent will be Colorado School of Mines.
