The University of Arkansas at Monticello chapter of the College Republicans unanimously voted to support and endorse LeAnne Burch for the Arkansas House of Representatives District 9 seat, according to a UAM College Republicans news release announcing the endorsement.
Burch, the Democratic nominee, is a retired brigadier general and an attorney.
“LeAnne Burch has views that align with our conservative beliefs,” College Republicans Chairman Hunter Hall said in a news release. “The College Republicans chapter understands that she has had a very distinguished lifetime of service which makes her a prime candidate for the seat. Alongside her willingness to work across the aisle, what sets her apart, is that she truly cares about the people of this community and we understand that is what’s important; we encourage Democrats and Republicans alike to make the right decision and vote for LeAnne Burch.”
Burch, of Monticello, previously received the endorsement of Seark Today for the District 9 seat. District 9 includes approximately two-thirds of both Drew and Ashley counties, including Monticello, Hamburg, and most of Crossett.
November 3 Update:
College Republicans also endorse Trump, Boozman, Westerman
The UAM chapter of College Republicans also endorsed three Republicans, Donald J. Trump for president, John Boozman for U.S. Senate and Bruce Westerman for U.S. Representative.
“These candidates parallel the views and beliefs held by all members of our organization,” Hall said. “We strongly believe these candidates are the best fit for the job. We take pride in endorsing and supporting Republicans. We proudly stand behind the following individuals and look forward to helping them in any way that we can.”
