The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball team extended its winning streak to 15 on Tuesday, defeating the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, 9-3.
UAM (21-8, 15-4 GAC) had nine hits, including four home runs and three doubles.
Right fielder David Reyna was 2 for 4 with two home runs and two RBI, shortstop Dylan Borman was 2 for 5 with a double, a home run and two RBI, first baseman Kaleb Warden was 1 for 5 with a double and two RBI, left fielder John Mauldin was 2 for 5 with a double, a home run and one RBI and catcher Brodie Threet was 1 for 5 with one RBI.
Weevils reliever Jared Roberts (1-0) earned the win, allowing no runs on one hit with three walks and six strikeouts over three innings.
UAFS (15-13) had five hits in the game with only one extra base hit.
Reyna was named the GAC Player of the Week on Tuesday for his efforts in last week’s games against Mississippi College and Southern Nazarene. In 12 plate appearances, he had 7 hits, a home run, and 4 RBI with a .583 batting average for the week.
The Weevils will be on the road this weekend, taking on Oklahoma Baptist at Shawnee, Oklahoma. Game one will be Friday at 6 p.m., followed by a double header on Saturday.
