The University of Arkansas at Monticello men’s and women’s golf teams defeated Southern Arkansas by a combined 29 strokes in a dual match on Saturday at the Mystic Creek Golf Club.

It marked UAM’s third straight dual win over SAU in the Battle of the Timberlands golf edition.

The men’s teams battled to within one stroke, with UAM coming out on top 318-319.

Teddi Karlsson led the Weevils and finished one stroke off of the individual medalist honor with a round of 76. Hunter Smith finished third at 78, Bryan Witmer tied for fifth at 81, and Ari Magnusson finished seventh at 83.

The Blossoms won by 28 strokes by a final margin of 351-379.

UAM’s Brianna Dickerson was the top individual finisher with a score of 83. Frida Rydberg was one stroke behind for second place, followed by Pamela Quiatchon in fourth place at 90 and Lauren Johnson in a tie for sixth place at 94.

The Weevils are back in action at the Dave Falconer Classic March 7-8 in Danville, Arkansas. The Blossoms return to the links March 14-15 at the Buccaneer Spring Classic in Germantown, Tennessee.
