Chiara Sturaro, a member of the University of Arkansas-Monticello women’s golf team, has qualified for the 2022 NCAA Central Region Tournament.

The tournament will be held May 2-4 at the Hot Springs Country Club.

Sturaro is the first UAM individual to qualify for the Central Regional since Frida Rydberg in 2018.

Sturaro tied for 11th place in the GAC Women’s Golf Championships on April 10-12. She finished the tournament with a 17-over 233, after shooting an 81, 76, and 76 through her three rounds.

She was selected to the 2022 All-GAC Women’s Golf Second Team. She currently has the second-best scoring average in a single season in Blossoms history with an average score of 78.24, beating her previous season average of 79.25.

The Great American Conference has three teams and three individuals competing in the tournament field.
