The Music Theatre Workshop at the University of Arkansas at Monticello will present two performances of Acts I and II of Mozart’s comic opera “The Marriage of Figaro” on November 13-14 at 7:30 p.m. in the UAM Fine Arts Center auditorium.

Both performances will be sung in English and are free and open to the public.

Mozart’s masterpiece revolves around the Count and Countess of Almaviva and the impending marriage of their servants, Figaro and Susanna. Because of his infatuation with Susanna, the Count tries secretly to break up the marriage. Meanwhile, the Countess, Figaro and Susanna try to thwart his plans and teach him a lesson.

The cast includes Robert Webb of Warren in the title role of Figaro, guest artist Jennifer Fryer of Warren as Susanna, Ben Wiltz of Magnolia as Don Bartolo, Carrie Ann Savage of Warren as Marcellina, Chelsea Culp of Henderson, Tex., and Jonathan Cruz of Warren as the Count and Countess, Jessica Arandondo of Monticello as Cherubino, Vincent Flieder of Texarkana, Tex., as Antonio, and Andrey Wright of Camden as Don Basilio.
