Farmers and ranchers interested in gaining insight into the 2012 farm bill currently being formulated by Congress are invited to attend a webinar at the University of Arkansas at Monticello’s School of Agriculture October 11 from 2 to 3 p.m.

The webinar is provided nationally by the Southern Agricultural Economics Association (SAEA) and the Council on Food, Agricultural, and Resource Economics (C-FARE). The UAM School of Agriculture is serving as a local host for the event.

The webinar will bring together industry representatives, government specialists and academic researchers to outline the debate that will shape American farm policy in the near future. Speakers include Dr. Joe Outlaw of Texas A&M University, Dr. John Anderson of the American Farm Bureau Federation, and Dr. Brad Lubben of the University of Nebraska.

Dr. Bob Stark, professor of agricultural economics at UAM, will coordinate the local presentation. For more information, contact the School of Agriculture at (870) 460-1014.
