UAM Women Golf

The University of Arkansas at Monticello women’s golf team has earned its highest preseason ranking in program history, picked to finish fourth in the 2016 Great American Conference preseason coaches poll.

The Blossoms moved up one spot from last year’s fifth place prediction.

UAM participated in four events during the fall portion of the 2015-16 schedule, highlighted by top three finishes. The Blossoms earned a first place finish out of five teams at the Union Fall Classic in late September.

The Blossoms have three sophomores, one junior and one senior on the roster, led by All-GAC selections from last year in Lauren Johnson and Frida Rydberg.

The spring schedule gets underway on Saturday, February 27 in a dual against Southern Arkansas at Mystic Creek Golf Club in El Dorado. The Blossoms also have trips to the Christian Brothers Buccaneer Classic, the Henderson State Bear State Bank Invitational, the Central Region Spring Preview and Harding’s Natural State Classic.

The 2016 GAC Championships are set for April 23-26 at the Hot Springs Country Club.
