The University of Arkansas at Monticello women’s golf team took first place this week in the Union University Fall Invitational.
Frida Rydberg, Lauren Johnson and Pamela Quiatchon led UAM with first, second and third place finishes.
Rydberg, a sophomore from Jarfalla, Sweden, took first place individually out of 28 participants after improving by eight strokes from her opening round of 83 on Monday to post the tournament’s low score of 75 on Tuesday. She finished two strokes ahead of junior teammate Lauren Johnson, who carded an 80 in each round.
Quiatchon, a senior from Oxnard, California, tied Union’s Lindsay McRee for third place by shooting an 82 in the first round and an 81 in the second round.
Sophomore Brianna Dickerson tied for 10th with scores of 83 and 88. Junior Sammy Rodriguez tied for 12th at 85 and 87.
