Vaughta Alleen Hackett Glover, 81, of McGehee, passed away on January 19, 2020 in McGehee.

She was the Desha County Tax Collector for 22 years before retiring, a member of Antioch Baptist Church in McGehee, the Women’s Chamber of Commerce, and State Board of Collectors Association.

Mrs. Glover was born on December 27, 1938 at Portland and was the daughter of the late Dave Crockett Hackett and Lydia Janes Estes Hackett.

She wsa preceded in death by her parents; brother, Cecil Peoples; and four sisters, Estelle Crawford, Mary Breedlove, Frances B. Wilson and Bea Mazzanti.

Survivors are her husband, Marvin E. Glover of McGehee; a son, Marvin E. Glover, Jr. of Fayetteville; a daughter, Patricia Ann Glover of Malvern; brother, James Henry Dave Hackett of Dermott; and sister, Sylvia Pierce of Hamburg.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 22, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Home, 109 South Brasfield, in Dumas.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 23, at 2 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, 200 North Jefferson Street, in McGehee, with Rev. Arlis East officiating, Burial will be at Walnut Lake Cemetery in Pickens.
