Velma Forrest McNeese, 85, of Monticello, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at The Woods Nursing and Rehab Facility in Monticello.
She was born June 1, 9131 in Monticello to the late Samuel Jo Forrest and Myrtle Braden Forrest. She was married to the late Thomas Junior “Red” McNeese.
Ms. McNeese was retired co-owner/operator of McNeese Auto & Electric and a member of the Second Baptist Church.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by the father of her children, Thomas Junior “Red” McNeese; a daughter, Betty Jane McNeese Roberson; a son-in-law, Bobby Gene Adams; a great-great grandson, Chantz Logan West; five brothers, Willie, J.C., J. D., Earl Lee and Dixon Forrest; and two sisters, Christine Forest Jackson and LuElla Forest Gibson.
She is survived by a son, Eugene McNeese and wife Laura of Foley Alabama; a daughter, Janice McNeese Adams of Monticello; a son-in-law, Lawrence Edward Roberson of Monticello; two brothers, Alfred Forrest of Foley, Alabama and W.T. Forrest of Monticello; seven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on January 20 at 1 p.m. at Oakland Cemetery in Monticello. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on January 19, 2017 at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home.
