The I-69 ground-breaking is still scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, however, the location of the ceremony may change in the event of rain. “Our location, which is just a field area off the highway, already has some water and if it gets any rainfall at all by Wednesday – as expected – we will move to the Drew County Fairgrounds Auditorium,” said Nita McDaniel, director of the Monticello Economic Development Commission. “Message boards will be located eastbound on Highway 35 near the cutoff from Highway 278 and Highway 35 westbound at the original event location to direct people ahead to the groundbreaking.”
