Vera Mae Preston, 80, of McGehee, passed away on June 23, 2018 at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock.
She was born on April 8, 1938 to the late Lovell Robert and Lottie Mae Cosgrave Rader.
Mrs. Preston was a Baptist and loved to fish and enjoyed picking blackberries to make coblers.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Noah Preston; brother, Herman Rader; sisters, Ora Mae Rader and Martha Faye Rader.
Survivors include her sons, Jerry (Sonda) Preston, of Arkansas City, and Robert Preston of McGehee; daughters, Catherine Reeves of McGehee, Helen Langley of North Little Rock, Patricia (Maurice) Nation and Barbara Cantrell, both of Taylor, Arkansas; brothers, Warren (Sarah) of Arkansas City, Lester (Betty) of Arkansas City, and Clarence (Lillie) Rader of McArthur; grandchildren, Dannie Langley, Cathy Deaton, Pricilla Deaton, Bryan Noah Cantrell, Amanda Frazier and Amber Cantrell; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 25 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 26 at 4 p.m. at Kelso Cemetery with Pastor W. H. Ashcraft officiating.
