Virginia May Trotter Knight, 86, of Monticello, passed away on May 8, 2016 at her home.
She was born February 25, 1930 in Drew County and was the daughter of the late Henry Trotter and Ethel Cater Trotter.
Mrs. Knight was the widow of Kenneth Knight, a retired County School Supervisor and attended the Rose Hill Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Joe Ed Barnes; two brothers, Frankie Trotter and Russell Trotter; and a sister, Cleo Cash.
Mrs. Knight’s first love was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her church family was also very important to her.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Knight Barnes of Monticello; a sister, Ida Cosby of Monticello; two brothers, Clay Trotter (her twin) of San Antonio, Texas and Welton Trotter of Helena; three grandchildren, Josh Barnes, Jade Beer and husband Jason and Jessica Storm and husband John IV; eight great-grandchildren, Jagger Storm, Lennon Storm, Simon Strickland, Sydney Jo Barnes, John Michael Storm V, Macee and Charlee Beer and Lilah Mae Storm; and a very special caregiver, Marilyn Harrison.
Funeral service will be held on May 11 at 10 a.m. at Rose Hill Free Will Baptist Church with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation is May 10 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Stephenson Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello.
