Walter Owen Dodds, 82, of Star City, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2020 with his wife of 60 years, Jane, by his side.
He was born in Pine Bluff to the late Walter Alvin and Maude Owen Dodds of Star City.
Mr. Dodds retired from International Paper Co. in February 1993 after 35 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Charles Nathan Dodds; two sisters, Charlotte Clary and Margaret Ann Dodds; and two nephews, Chuck Dodds and Ronnie Clary.
Survivors include wife, F. Jane Teer Dodds of Star City; one daughter, Susie Miller of Bryant; three sons, Roger (Terri) Dodds of Little Rock, Doug (Sondra) Dodds of Hernando, Mississippi, and Dean (Gloria) Dodds of Fairhope, Alabama; four grandchildren, Andrew (Sydney) Dodds of Fayetteville, Nathan Dodds of Little Rock, Mackenzie Dodds of Hernando, Mississippi, and Logan Dodds of Memphis, Tennessee; two step-grandchildren, Luke Hembree of Fairhope, Alabama and Melissa (Anthony) Martin of Daphne, Alabama; and two step great-grandchildren, Lily Jane and Bree Abigail Martin of Daphne, Alabama.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 29, at 2 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Fuqua and Bro. Bill Davidson officiating. Visitation is Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until the funeral time at at the funeral home. Burial will be at Leek Cemetery. Pallbearers are Andrew Dodds, Nathan Dodds, Logan Dodds, Luke Hembree, Runchey Robertson and John De Angelo.
