Wanda Lou Britton Watson, 81 of Selma passed away on February 7, 2015 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
She was born on December 30, 1933 in Hayti, Missouri and was the daughter of the late Hugh Gordon Britton and Naomi Patterson Britton.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Joe Britton and James Britton; and one sister, Laura Ruth Averett.
She was a homemaker, a Christian and attended Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Wanda was a wonderful seamstress, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She devoted her life to taking care of her family.
Survivors include her husband of 59, Paul Watson of Selma; a son, Kenny Watson and wife, Annette of Selma; a daughter, Dr. Paula Watson of Nashville, Tennessee; a brother, Edward Britton and wife, Brenda of Little Rock; two sisters, Mary Carson and husband, Jerry of McGehee and Sue Brown and husband, Len of Denham Springs, Louisiana; two grandsons, C.J. Watson and wife Sara of Monticello and Ryan Watson and wife, Lindsey of Monticello; three great-grandsons, Will Watson, Tanner Watson and Talin Watson; one great-granddaughter, Jordan and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held on February 11 at 10 a.m. at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist with burial to follow at the Tillar Cemetery. Visitation will be February 10 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Monticello.
