Justin Hall, a Warren linebacker and a Seark Today Player of the Week recipient, received the Paul Eells Award. The award, part of the annual Landers Award presentation, recognizes a football player who overcomes obstacles and displays the spirit of the game.
Vicki Eells, widow of the late Channel 7 sportscaster Paul Eeels for whom the award is named, presented the award to Hall, who was injured in the eighth game of the season and had to have his spleen removed. He missed the Lumberjacks’ last two regular season games and the playoffs.
Hall was selected as Seark Today’s Player of the Week the third week of the season for his performance in the Lumberjacks’ 39-7 win over the Crossett Eagles. Hall had an impressive 20 tackles in the game.
Hall has accepted an appointment to West Point where he hopes to play football as a walk-on.
