A Warren man was killed on Friday, June 2, following a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 40 in Crawford County, according to an Arkansas State Police preliminary accident report.
Marlon A. Jackson, 34, of Warren was killed the accident.
State police said an eastbound Saab attempted to pass an eastbound Ford Escape in the outside lane and the drivers of both vehicles lost control causing the vehicles to enter the median and overturn. Jackson, a passenger in the Ford, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene of the accident, according to the police report.
Another passenger in the Ford, Kendarious J. Lacy, 19, also of Warren, was injured in the accident, and 18-year-old James Jackson of Fort Smith, a passenger in the Saab, was also injured, according to the police report.
The drivers of the two vehicles, whose names were not disclosed in the police report, were not injured.
The accident occurred at 11:58 p.m. on June 2. Travel conditions were clear and the roadway dry at the time of the accident, according to State Police.
At least 198 people have died on Arkansas roadways this year.
