Southeast Arkansas Education Service Cooperative AmeriCorps and Foster Grandparent Programs hosted a “Mayor’s Day of Recognition” on April 9 at the cooperative’s facility in Monticello where Warren Mayor Bryan Martin recognized Smart Start, Coordinated School Health, Future Teacher Initiative and Foster Grandparent members for their community service.

Martin declared by proclamation April 9 as a “Mayor’s Day of Recognition for National and Community Service” and spoke about volunteerism and the importance of community service. State Rep. Sheilla Lampkin, and AmeriCorps Alumni, Blake Higginbotham, were also guest speakers at the event.
There were more than 92 members, staff and guests in attendance.
