The University of Arkansas at Monticello College of Technology-McGehee welding students recently showcased their work at the welding technology program’s first “Family Day.”
Family and friends of current welding students were treated to lunch and the opportunity to meet with faculty, administrators, students, and families of other welding students.
Gary Burt, welding instructor, visited with each family while students showcased their work and performed welds while family members watched through welding curtains.
Pictured above is welding student Tripp Lipford of McGehee showing a weld to his mother, DeLana Lipford.
According to Sharon Cantrell, assistant vice chancellor, 100 percent of the welding students graduate from the program with American Welding Society certifications and 100 percent of the graduates gain employment in the welding industry.
