Wesley “Wes” Tucker, 86, of Monticello, passed away on March 21, 2020 at his home.
He was born on February 24, 1934 in Lincoln County to the late Guy B. Tucker and Myrtle Bostian Tucker.
Mr. Tucker retired from the United States Air Force as a tech sergeant after 22 years of service. He served tours of duty in Europe and Thailand, where they flew missions to Vietnam, serving as an AP (air policeman). He sold insurance for American General Insurance Company for many years and was a Baptist.
Mr. Tucker was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed deer hunting and spending time at the Lincoln Drew Deer Camp with his buddies. He loved his family and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He presented himself friendly and had many, many friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Tucker was also preceded in death by a great-grandson, Noah.
Survivors include his wife, Mary “Cissy” Gannaway Tucker of Monticello; two sons, Mark Tucker and wife Christy of Shady Shores, Texas and Jason Tucker of Kimberly, Wisconsin; four daughters, Debbie Spayde and husband Rick of Long Beach, Mississippi, Sherri Brosky and husband Dave of Greenwell Springs, Louisiana, Paula Webb and husband Charles of Rock Springs and Suzanne Smith of Knoxville, Tennessee; his sister, Opal Tucker Ward and husband Kim of Monticello; three nephews, John Ward, Roger Ward and Michael Ward all of Monticello; fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, March 25 at 2 p.m. at the Cornerville Cemetery in Lincoln County.
