William Buddy McGriff, 85, of Star City died on December 16, 2014 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.
He was a member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, a bus mechanic and bus driver for Star City Schools, a member of Pigeon Roost Hunting Club, an avid hunter and fisherman and a jack of all trades.
Mr. McGriff was born June 6, 1929 in Star City and was the son of the late Robert Monroe and Farie Lillian Vermillion McGriff.
Also preceding him in death were five brothers, Arthur McGriff, Hoyt Pierce, Monroe McGriff, Clyde McGriff and Chester McGriff; five sisters, Beatrice McGriff, Emogine Reynolds, Edna Nutt, Ollie McRae and Irene Nowlin.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Annie Lucille Williams McGriff; three sons, Larry (Rhonda) McGriff, David (Tabby) McGriff and Jay Michael (Charman) McGriff; a daughter, Sherry (Tim) Boykin; a brother, Calvin McGriff; a sister, Eva Cogbill, all of Star City; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on December 19 at 2 p.m. at the Griffin Funeral Chapel in Star City with Bros. Elmer Byerly and Mike Powell officiating.
Visitation is December 18 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
