William Dale Bolin, 73, of Crossett, passed away August 17, 2014 at his home.
Mr. Bolin was a member of Cloverdale Assembly of God Church where he served as a board member for many years. He was active in the affairs of the church as Sunday School superintendent and Sunday School teacher as well as other church activities. His love of the Lord and his church was demonstrated by his unswerving faith and steadfast support of the ministry with generous commitments of time and resources.
Mr. Bolin retired from Georgia Pacific Corp. as the tissue mill superintendent on January 23, 2003. He also retired from Albany International where he worked as an application specialist, a position in which he gained industry-wide acclaim as one of the best in tissue manufacturing. He traveled most of the U.S. and some foreign countries working with various producers to advance the art of papermaking, a profession he loved.
Mr. Bolin was born on July 27, 1941 at Milo and was the son of Irma A. Sawyer Bolin of Crossett and the late W.M. “Doc” Bolin.
In addition to his father, Mr. Bolin was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Betty Bolin and brother-in-law, Bobby Ray.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Annette “Ann” Pennington Bolin; daughter, Lana Paige Bolin and husband, Bryan, of Crossett; grandson, Dax Colbie Bolin and wife, Katie, of Crossett; his mother, Irma A. Bolin of Crossett; two brothers, Jerry G. Bolin and wife, Virginia, of Morrilton, and Johnnie M. Bolin of Crossett; two sisters, Judy Ray of Crossett, and Kitty Storset and husband Karman of Port Orchard, Washington; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mr. Bolin’s dry wit was the occasion of many presentations being interrupted by one of his timely comments. Family gatherings were especially fun when he got on a “roll” with his remarks. He was a story teller of some repute especially when he and his buddies, Gordon Rice and John Pennington got together.
A Celebration of Life service will be held August 20 at 2 p.m. at Cloverdale Assembly of God Church in Crossett with Bro. John Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home of Crossett.
Pallbearers are Steven Bolin, Mike Ray, Logan Ray, Karman Storset, Todd Rice, Ronnie McDonald, Jimmy Guin, and Tony Hartley. Honorary Pallbearers are Carl Keller, Dale Norrell, Harold Tucker, Gordon Rice, John Pennington, Scott Parker, Kenneth Knight, Sam Curran, Charles Berryman, and all Georgia Pacific employees.
A visitation will be held August 19 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Cloverdale Assembly of God Church.
