William Earl “Bill” Mixon, 75, of Montrose died on April 20, 2020 at his home.
He was born on December 25, 1944 in Revenna, Ohio to the late Joel Mixon and the late Hazel (Pendergrast) Mixon.
Mr. Mixon served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a law enforcement officer for more than 29 years in Horn Lake, Mississippi; Bald Knob, Lake Village, the Montrose Police Department and the Ashley County Sheriffi’s Office.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Andy Mixon, and a stepson, Butch Tims.
Mr. Mison is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sharlote Marie (McCabe) Mixon; three sons, Franky Mixon of Montrose, Brad Mixon of Walls, Mississippi, and Chuck Mixon of Hernando, Mississippi; a one stepson, Dentye Tims of Byhalia, Mississippi; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, friends, and family.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date under the direction of Bishop-King Funeral Home of Lake Village.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Paws & Claws Humane Society in McGehee or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
