William Foster Smith, 87, of Warren, died on January 27, 2019, at his home.
He was born on January 1, 1932, in Harrisburg and was the son of the late William Henry Smith and Dellar Britnell Smith.
Mr. Smith was a retired ferryboat captain at Moro Bay and retired owner and operator of Smith Barber Shop. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, a member of First United Methodist Church, an avid fisherman and gardener. He loved spending time with his family.
Also preceding him in death were brothers, Lushen Smith, Larkin Smith, Merdie Smith, Pete Smith, Felix Smith; sisters Genora Powers, Julia Barker, and Annette Qualls.
Survivors are his wife, Elizabeth Clanton Smith; two sons, Greg Mann and wife Rachelle of Monticello, and Jeff Smith of Warren; two grandchildren, Joseph Smith and wife Allison, and Gabby Mann; a great-grandchild, Eli Smith; and a special sister-in-law, Shirley Clanton of Warren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 29 from 6-8 p.m. at Frazer’s Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 30, at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Union Hill Cemetery at Ingalls.
