He was a retired educator, dedicated hunter, fisherman and lover of the outdoors. He attended the First Baptist Church of Heber Springs, but was still a member of the First Baptist Church of McGehee where he grew up.
Mr. Bennett was the son of the late J.W. and Ann Penton of McGehee.
He is survived by the love and joy of his life, his wife, Sandy, of Heber Springs; his son, Brad (Jennifer) of Fayetteville; and his sister, Lynda Penton of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He also leaves behind a special group of high school friends that were never far from his thoughts or his company.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 14 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the Griffin Culpepper Funeral Services in McGehee. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 pm at the McGehee Cemetery.
