Winnie Lee Weaver, 92, passed away on June 28, 2017 in Little Rock, surrounded by her family.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Mrs. Weaver was born on September 13, 1924 and was the daughter of the late Lillian and Eric Smith. She was raised in Maynard, Arkansas.
On June 23, 1946, she married William Weaver, her high school sweetheart. They enjoyed 71 beautiful years of marriage together. She and her husband ran a medical clinic in Eudora for many years before retiring in Lake Village. She then spent her time doting on her grandchildren and husband. She loved to cook for her family and often spoke about how proud she was of her grandchildren, who were equally fond of their Nana.
She was a member of the Eudora Baptist Church.
Mrs. Weaver is survived by her husband, Dr. William J. Weaver; children Jackie (Rusty) Nelson and Michael (Rebecca) Weaver; five grandchildren, Eric (Jessica) Nelson, Natalie (Jerry) Burr, Molly Weaver, Selena Nelson, and Jackson Weaver; great-granddaughter Elissa Nelson; and sister Shirley (Paul) Spencer.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Debra Weaver.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 1 at 9 a.m. at the Eudora Baptist Church, located at 359 South Archer St. in Eudora. The funeral service will follow an hour later on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the church with Rev. Jeff Tarver officiating.
Burial will be at Maynard Cemetery in Maynard at later date. Arrangements by Griffin Culpepper Funeral Home of McGehee.
