Winnie Marie Hogan, 81, of Crossett, passed away on December 7, 2019, at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello.
She was born in Fountain Hill on May 7, 1938, to her parents, Clark and Winnie Helen Johnson Fairchild.
Marie was the 1956 valedictorian of Fountain Hill High School and captain of the girls basketball team. She attended the Draughon Business School in Little Rock and eventually began a career with Georgia Pacific which spanned over 50 years before she retired in the accounting department of the Crossett Plywood Plant. She was a Baptist and an amazing grandmother to her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ms. Dorothy Stewart.
Her survivors include one son, Richard Hogan and wife, Jaime, of Hamburg; two step-daughters, Tammy Manley and husband, Ron, of Bastrop, Louisiana and Lynda Allen and husband, Wayne, of Fountain Hill; seven grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; and a host of loving family and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 11 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett, followed by a graveside service at 3 p.m. at the Flat Creek Cemetery in Fountain Hill with pastor Keith Rose officiating.
