Winnie Tumey Standley, 72, of the Rock Springs community in Drew County, passed away on May 4, 2019 at The Woods Nursing & Rehab in Monticello.
She was a homemaker and was of the Missionary Baptist faith. She was a beautiful woman; a wonderful wife, mother, and a caregiver. She had a generous heart, touched many lives and was a friend to all.
Mrs. Standley was born on June 26, 1946 in Eudora and was the daughter of Nancy Craven Tumey and the late Alton Tumey.
In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Tumey.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Robert Standley of the Rock Springs community; a son, Robert A. Standley of Denver, Colorado; a daughter, Kimberly Standley Starnes and husband Erek of Hernando, Mississippi; a grandson, Tyler Starnes; a granddaughter, Riley Starnes; her mother, Nancy Tumey of Riverside, Texas; two brothers, Charles Tumey and wife Lyla of Riverside, Texas and Jimmy Tumey and wife Nancy of Ashdown; a sister, Carolyn Coufal and husband Jimmie of Temple, Texas; and lifelong friend, Delores Scucchi Poyner of Rowher.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 6 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 7 at 2 p.m. at thje funeral home. Burial will be Wednesday, May 8 at 1 p.m. at Culpepper Cemetery on Culpepper Mountain near Clinton, Arkansas.
