UPDATE – Wednesday evening:

An Ice Storm Warning is effect until noon Thursday for Bradley, Cleveland, Desha, Drew, and Lincoln counties in Southeast Arkansas.

In Bradley and Drew counties, areas of freezing rain are expected, with ice accumulations ranging from one tenth to one quarter inch and localized amounts approaching half an inch.

In Cleveland, Desha and Lincoln counties, ice accumulations of one quarter to one half inch are expected, with localized heavier amounts possible.

An Ice Storm Warning means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of ice accumulations will make travel dangerous or impossible. Travel is strongly discouraged. Commerce will likely be severely impacted. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Ice accumulations and winds will likely lead to snapped power lines and falling tree branches that add to the danger.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Southeast Arkansas, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service in Little Rock issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Bradley, Dallas, Desha, Drew, Calhoun, Cleveland, Lincoln and Ouachita counties while the National Weather Service in Jackson, Mississippi issued an advisory for Ashley and Chicot counties.

The advisory will be in effect from 6 p.m. Wednesday until noon Thursday for Dallas, Cleveland and Lincoln counties; from midnight Wednesday until noon Thursday for Bradley, Calhoun, Desha, Drew and Ouachita counties; and from 3 a.m. Thursday until noon Thursday for Ashley and Chicot counties.

Freezing rain with ice accumulations, is expected. Slow down and use caution while traveling. Prepare for possible power outages.
