Zelma Johnson Barnett, 89, of Crossett, died December 19, 2013 at Pinewood Health and Rehabilitation Center in Crossett.
Mrs. Barnett was a native and life long resident of Crossett. She retired from Chase Bag Company after 40 years of service. She was a member of Jarvis Chapel Baptist Church and loved going to church and going to gospel singings. She loved working in her flower beds and yard and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, R.T. Barnett; her parents, T.E. “Bud” and Frannie Burchell Johnson; a brother, Grady Johnson; three sisters, Amzie Frisby, Vera Ware and Ann Moates.
She is survived by a son, Lloyd D. Leonard and wife, Diane; a sister, Grace Hopper all of Crossett; two grandchildren, Ricky Leonard and wife, Roxanne, Dana Chavis and husband, Dale; five great-grandchildren, Danielle & Kacee Jo Leonard and Devin, Daley and Phillip Chavis and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Jarvis Chapel Baptist Church on December 21 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Mike Griffith and Rev. Lloyd Gibbs officiating. Burial will be at Pinewood Memorial Park.
Pallbearers are Ronnie Hopper, Ricky Leonard, John Hughes, Harold Tucker, Keith Wesson and Jerry Grant. Memorials may be made to the Jarvis Chapel Baptist Church, 324 Bell Branch Road, Crossett, AR 71635.
